Licey aplasta a Toros en liga dominicana de béisbol

SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana(AP),– Los Tigres del Licey comenzaron el año de una manera explosiva, con un barraje ofensivo verdaderamente impresionante.

Juan Carlos Pérez y Arismendy Alcántara conectaron sendos jonrones y Diory Hernández impulsó cuatro vueltas para que el Licey aplastara el sábado por 16-5 a los Toros del Este en la serie semifinal del torneo de béisbol invernal dominicano.

Pérez se fue de 3-3, con doble, jonrón y cuatro impulsadas, Alcántara ligó de 2-1 con un cuadrangular de dos vueltas y Hernández bateó de 3-2, con un doble y cuatro remolcadas para ayudar al Licey a mantenerse en la primera posición.

El cubano Francisley Bueno (1-0) trabajó cinco entradas en las que solo toleró dos hits y otorgó un boleto con cuatro ponches, mientras el Licey ganó su cuarto partido en forma consecutiva.

La derrota fue para Edwar Cabrera (0-1) con una entrada y un tercio de cinco hits y cinco vueltas, otorgando tres transferencias y con un ponche.

Por los Toros, Deibinson Romero disparó un doble y produjo dos carreras. Angelys Nina empujó otra.

En San Pedro de Macorís, Junior Lake anotó en una jugada agresiva en la parte baja de la decimotercera entrada y las Estrellas Orientales vencieron por 4-3 a los Leones del Escogido.

Lake abrió la 13ra entrada con un doble por el jardín central e inmediatamente después Hanser Alberto tocó de sacrificio para mover el corredor a tercera.

Entonces, Florimón se ponchó y el receptor dejó caer la pelota y tiró a primera, momento que Lake aprovechó para anotar.

La victoria fue Greg Reynolds (1-0) con una entrada sin permitir ningún tipo de libertad a los Leones.

La derrota fue para Ramón García (0-1) con dos entradas y dos tercios y una carrera permitida en su presentación.

Los Leones ahora han perdido dos juegos seguidos después de ganar sus primeros cuatro compromisos de la postemporada.

Por los Leones, Carlos Peguero despachó un cuadrangular solitario, Eury Pérez remolcó una. Tras la jornada, Licey (4-1) lidera la semifinal seguido de Leones (3-2), Toros (2-3) y Estrellas (1-4). El domingo se enfrentan Licey-Leones y Estrellas-Toros.
